Delta begins nonstop flights from New York-JFK to San Jose and Liberia, Costa Rica
NEW YORK, Feb 18, 2008 (M2 PRESSWIRE via COMTEX) Today announced the beginning of nonstop flights between New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport and San Jose and Liberia, Costa Rica, starting today and tomorrow, respectively.
These new routes enhance Delta's successful global service from New Yorkto Latin America and the Caribbean.
With this new service, Delta will offer 31 weekly flights to Costa Rica from the U.S., including flights to the country from Atlanta, Los Angeles, and now, New York.
San Jose, the capital of Costa Rica, is located in its Central Plateau, near national parks, forest reserves and fertile lands, with an abundance of coffee plantations. Liberiais the capital of sunny Guanacaste province in northwest Costa Ricaand the gateway to some of the most beautiful beaches and national parks of the country.
"Since June 2006, Delta has added nine new destinations between JFK and Latin America and the Caribbean - the most comprehensive and unique expansion by a U.S.carrier," said Miguel Lopez, commercial director for Central America and the Caribbeanfor Delta. "These form part of Delta's global expansion, which has opened travel options to 41 new foreign destinations in the last 24months."
